What is Chamoy and Tajin Candy?
Chamoy and Tajin candy originate from Mexico. It is a treat that combines cinnamon, sugar, and chili into an interesting confection. It’s often served alongside fresh fruit or other snacks. The combination of spicy with sweet can be very addictive!
Chamoy sauce is made from ume plums and spiked with chilies giving it its unique sour and spicy flavors
This is not to be confused with Tajin that is made from chile peppers, dehydrated lime, and salt. Tajin is also in powder form whereas Chamoy is a sauce.
Interesting trivia – did you know that Tajin seasoning is also commonly used to line margarita cocktails?
This unique combination of flavors is one of the major reasons why this confection is taking Australia by storm at present. I see this candy appearing on my social media feeds every single day!.
Chamoy and Tajin Candy Taste Test
I had the opportunity to try out this new candy recently, and I have to say that I instantly became a fan! The flavor is unique and takes some getting used to. However, once you become accustomed to it, you can’t help but keep reaching for more.
The texture of the candy is chewy and you get to choose from a wide range of lollies from gummy bears to peach rings.
I had some of these candies delivered to me during the last Sydney lockdown and found them to be quite good snacks to have while watching my favorite shows on Netflix.
